Can you believe we are now well into August? Wow, time goes so fast!
Recently the Centre had a visit by the Victorian Shadow Minister for Early Childhood, Jenny Mikakos, who was on a tour of exemplary children services and ADCC was one of the services chosen. Jenny attended kindergarten at ADCC so it was great to have her come back to the centre in her role as Victorian Shadow Minister for Early Childhood.
We have also been asked to host ACECQA as part of their listening tour of services in Victoria. Both these visits show that government and stakeholders view ADCC as a high quality service. This is a huge credit to Lara, Anna and the team who are true leaders within children services and are providing our children with a special place to come and learn. Thank you for continuing to challenge yourselves and work extremely hard to ensure that ADCC stands out within the sector and within the new National Quality Framework.
The COM has been busy reviewing and approving many policies, working on the sub committee initiatives, looking at the Quality Improvement Plan for the centre and guiding and supporting the general management of the centre. The COM is planning a session with the staff team on the vision of the centre which will be a great conversation to have. We have a social function and a working bee coming up so please come along and support both events as a lot of planning goes into them, and a lot of connections and benefits come out of them! If you are interested in being a member of the COM next year please feel free to call me and chat about the different roles available and what’s involved.
The first patent survey has been emailed to families and I encourage you to complete it and share your views with the COM. The results will provide us with important information that we’ll share with centre management for future planning.
Last but not least I want to say how nice it has been over the last few months to see the children initiate some fantastic projects across the centre. It’s always great to see some of this wonderful work on display in the foyer. Well done to all the children and thanks for sharing your work.
