Please call the centre if your child will be absent due to illness, on holidays or staying home. It is important to let us know if your child is sick so that we can report any contagious illness/communicable diseases to other families and/or the Health Department.
An allowable absence is one where you can still claim Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate for a day when your child is absent. A child is allowed up to 42 absent days per financial year without your Child Care Benefit or the Child Care Rebate being affected. You DO NOT need to provide any documentation eg doctors certificates for the 42 days, however any subsequent absent days taken will need to be supported by documentation.
