A very warm welcome to our new families and to the families returning to Annie Dennis for 2012. Everyone is looking refreshed and ready for another enjoyable year. I would like to thank all the staff and families for their support and participation during the room transitions. I am sure you will all agree that the rooms look and feel inviting and welcoming. The children are settling into their new programs, reacquainting with friends and making new ones. In the next few weeks room leaders will be organising parent meetings as an opportunity to meet you and gather information about your child.
As Annie Dennis is a community based centre, parent involvement and participation is vital. There are a number of ways to become involved in your child’s program or the centre as a whole. We value all the time that you can give (no matter how big or small). Participating in this way is also a great way to find out more about the centre, to meet other families and get to know the staff better too.
This year will be another huge year for the centre. The kinder review process continues with the preparation for the implementation of 15hrs of kinder by 2013 and the implementation of the National Quality Standards to name but a few. We have already seen the new staffing ratios introduced for 1 January and further staffing changes are due in 2014 and 2016.
As we enter the New Year, we hope that our year will be inspirational and that children, families and staff can share ideas that will provide the children with an enriching environment which will enhance each child’s individuality and self esteem.
