Sustainability @ ADCC Update

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

As part of our ongoing commitment to making ADCC as environmentally sustainable as possible, air-conditioning units in the children’s rooms are in the process of being replaced with more efficient models.

We have installed and replaced four units so far, with another three units to be installed
by the end of the year. The air-conditioning units  have a six-star rating, which is the highest efficiency rating available.

A passive cooling system has also been installed in the Kindergarten room so that air in the room can cool down overnight whenever possible, and minimise the need for air-conditioning during the day.

A big thanks to all staff, and especially the Green Team, for making sure energy at the Centre is used wisely!

Final Working Bee & AGM Sunday 16 November

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

FINAL WORKING BEE 9am-12pm

Come and join us for our final working bee for 2008, including a yummy sausage sizzle.

Our plans for the Centre include:

• Building a seat around our new tree in the Bastings St yard (if you can help with measuring up and buying materials, please see Lara or Anna)

• General clean up and gardening

• Create something with the last of our ‘junk and treasures’

• And much more…

Come along and admire the wonderful play spaces that you have helped to create for all the children at Annie Dennis. Children welcome!

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 12pm-2pm

And while you’re enjoying the sausage sizzle, we will announce next year’s Committee of Management at the Annual General Meeting, to be held in Annie’s Yard.

This is your chance find out who’ll be behind the scenes helping Lara and Anna with the day-to-day operation of the Centre. It’s the most relaxing way we could think of to hold our AGM!

ADCC is a community-run childcare centre, so if you’d like to get involved and join a committee, simply add your name to the lists in the Centre foyer. If you’d like to know more about what’s involved, drop in at the office for a chat.
