Mangoes, Mangoes, Mangoes… and Labels

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

This Friday is absolutely the last day for mango orders, so don’t miss out!

Come mid-December, a freshly picked tray of mangoes can be yours for the bargain price of only $23.

And don’t forget, ordering mangoes through the Centre helps  raise funds to make it a better place for your child.

The Stuck on You label fundraiser ends this Friday as well. You can place your orders at the office or do them online. If you do order online, don’t forget to quote Annie Dennis Children’s Centre as the fundraiser.

October Fundraising News

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

We currently have two fundraisers on the go at ADCC. All moneys raised go towards improving the Centre for your children.

But before reading on, here’s a quick reminder to everyone about photo orders. Please make your selection from the photo albums in your child’s room, and place your order at the office no later than 23 October.

STUCK ON YOU LABELS

The Stuck on You fundraiser is now on in the foyer at ADCC. You can choose your own Stuck on You designs and colours for those ever-essential vinyl and clothing-transfer labels.

All order forms are to be completed and returned to the office by 30 October, with cheques made payable to Annie Dennis Children’s Centre.

If you prefer to do it online, please quote Annie Dennis Children’s Centre as the fundraiser so proceeds go to the Centre, not Stuck on You.

MANGOES FOR SUMMER

The Mango Fundraiser is back on! Yes it’s that time of year – put in your order now for delicious fresh mangoes delivered right to our door from North Queensland. There’s no better way to start the summer than with the lovely scent of mangoes floating through the house.

This year mangoes cost $23 per tray – that’s 7kg of mangoes (or 14-20 mangoes depending on size). It’s not only a bargain price, but think of all those delicious recipes and desserts you can make.

All mango orders will be delivered in mid-December – the exact date will be confirmed closer to the time.

Orders should be returned to the office with cheques made payable to Annie Dennis Children’s Centre by 30 October. Don’t miss out – no late orders can be accepted due to high demand.

Cake & Treat Stall for the Open Day

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Budding bakers, get your cook books out and start baking to help us offer a delicious range of tempting treats at the Open Day on Saturday 12 September.

We’d like each family to take home a kit from the foyer and bring back a tasty treat that we can sell on the day. It could be a cake, biscuits, slices, old style childhood favorites or even jams, preserves or chutneys. Please note, NO nuts and NO fresh cream or items requiring refrigerating.

The kit comprises a box, cello bag, ribbon and two numbered labels. Please list all the ingredients and date made on both labels. Write your name and phone number on just one of the labels. Stick one label on the box so it’s visible and return the other one with the backing paper intact.

Goodies can be dropped off at the Centre on Friday 11 September, or from 9.30am on the day.

Please contact Daphne Morros on 0408 360 764 with any queries.

Craft Workshop Sunday 30 August 1pm-5pm

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

A huge thanks to everyone who participated in the Craft Workshop two weeks ago. We’re holding another this Sunday to finish making all the cute goodies to sell at the Open Day craft market.

If you know your way around a sewing machine, or are handy with a needle and thread, we need help with finishing off denim bags and capes.

If you’d like to have a go at some screen-printing (with a lovely design by Helena Cameron), we still have plenty of calico bags to do before the big day. Just be sure to bring an old shirt, or smock, to wear over your clothes as the ink is permanent.

There will also be some broach-making as well, which should be lots of fun.

If you have any questions, pop into the office. Otherwise, see you there!

Don’t miss out on the Children’s Art Folios Fundraiser

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

Not sure where or how to store all the lovely artwork your children do at creche and/or kinder?

Check out the affordable, quality art folios now on display in the foyer at ADCC.

There are 3 great designs to choose from, and they are A2 size so they fit all those big ones in too.

Folios are only $24.95 each, and would make lovely gifts for friends and families.

All proceeds go to further improving ADCC facilities for your child to enjoy every day.

Order forms have been placed in your child’s pigeonhole. Please return your orders to office by Monday 17 August.
